This girl playing the violin is cast from silicon bronze, yellow brass, and white bronze.
The upper body including the hands and head are cast as one piece in silicon bronze. Her hair has been cast in yellow brass, whereas the violin and bow are cast in a white bronze. Her skirt is also cast from a white bronze alloy that looks like silver.
This piece is mounted on a custom made hexagonal piece of white marble.
The white bronze includes 58% copper, 1% lead and various amounts of manganese, zinc and aluminum. The silicon bronze contains 95% Cu, 4% Si, 1% Mn. The yellow brass has 63% copper, 1% lead, and various amounts of zinc and tin.
