Description
This is a sculpture of the modern day Wonder Woman, an Amazon warrior.
Now, my bronze cast version can never be exactly like the true Wonder Woman. Nor was it ever planned to be an exact replica. It is only similar. When I began to think about how I could reflect the similarity, without being exact, I had the idea to reflect my sculpture in an actual mirror and use the non-exact contrast as part of my art.
Or, you could imagine that I made a mistake and put the sword in the wrong hand and then had to come up with an idea to do something with the sculpture? Is this actual truth or reflected truth?
I can say that I had a true image of Wonder Woman engraved in the mirror and now have the non-exact version of my sculpture reflected in the mirror. This can be a contrast between what you actually see in the mirror and what you want to see in the mirror.
The mirror was mounted on a custom fabricated honey onyx stone so that it can be rotated in both the vertical and horizontal dimensions.
This version of my representation of Wonder Woman was cast in natural bronze. Her sword is cast in white bronze. The bronze is polished and has a liver of sulphur patina applied to certain parts to retain a strong similarity with the etching.
The white bronze includes 58% copper, 1% lead and various amounts of manganese, zinc and aluminum. The natural bronze contains 90% copper and tin.
