2020 Planned Castings
It is my plan to cast the following works in 2020. These plans are subject to change. New ideas and things of interest can arise. Sometime in 2020
My blog postings usually describe my Work in Progress activities, but I will occassionally post interesting event notices or other items related to this website. Subscribe to my blog to receive an email when I post new work.

I have now cast two horses for my stagecoach. These horses are 1:18 scale and weigh over 600 grams bronze each. The horses are a matched pair as they were fabricated from the same mould but I adjusted the pose and sculpted new wax versions to make different variations.Due to their size these horses had […]
I have now cast the stagecoach wheels and axles and roof rails and steps. This essentially completes the coach, except for the three storage boxes I have yet to cast. And the horses, of course. I will post another entry when the work is almost complete. The following pictures show progress so far. The stagecoach […]
I have made some progress with my stagecoach. I had previously cast and assembled the frame and had cast the floor pieces in bronze. One of the rear seat extension brackets didn’t fully cast due to a sprue error, so I had to recast this piece in my next casting session. The next casting was for […]
I am beginning to cast a new work that will be a bronze stagecoach. I am basing this casting on a wooden model kit. At the moment I am not planning on casting the horses for the stagecoach. These will be custom made if I decide to sculpt these later. This casting will be my […]
On June 7, 2019, I will have my first gallery opening for my bronze works. Many of you are aware of my bronze casting work. I would like to personally invite you to my first gallery exhibition, Unseen, at the ArtPoint Gallery in Inglewood, 1038 17 Ave SE, Calgary, from June 7 to June 29, 2019. […]
My Pirate Fairy is now 99% finished. Tiki, the fairy, was coloured with some green enamel. I abandoned my original idea to use some black tourmaline as a feature stone on this sculpture when the stone fractured while drilling to set a pin. Instead, I used a wonderfully fine piece of iron pyrite. The coin […]
I have essentially finished my Wonder Woman, the Gal Gadot version, with mirror. I am quite pleased with how it has turned out. This work will be called Spiegelbild im Spiegel. The name is a reflection of Spiegel im Spiegel by Arvo Pärt, a simple arpeggio on the piano combined with a slow-moving melody line […]
My brass monkey sculpture is almost finished. In my previous posting I had shown the work without a cast figurine. However, on second thought, I decided to cast another pirate wench for this work as I thought it needed a focus piece. This work is now a sister piece to my “Protecting the Booty” sculpture. […]
I have started a new sculpture that I am calling the Pirate Fairy. At the time I didn’t realize that Disney had co-opted this name for one of their animated movies starring Tinker Bell. My fairy is actually named Tiki, and yes, she is a pirate fairy so I will continue to call her by […]
