Pirate Wench 4
I am making a new pirate lady so that I can have one available for my Spruce Meadows show in September.
Fortunately, both of my previous works sold at the Calgary Expo. I am happy that people like my work but in some sense I was sad to see these go as I quite liked this sculpture.
This one is a little different in that I cast her boots in a white bronze. This won’t make much difference as I will apply a black enamel to her boots once again, but the boot trim will now be silver this time, rather than bronze.
I am also making a hinged treasure chest once again. As this chest is about 500 grams of metal it takes a lot of heat before it will get hot enough for silver solder to melt. This is difficult, so I discovered that it works better if I attach the hinge with a lower temperature tin solder.
I will also cast some cannons to complete this work.
