“Growing Up Victorian” is a casting that I think exemplifies the structure and order of Victorian culture.

This is a bronze casting of Hina Ichigo from the Rozen Maiden anime. Hina Ichigo is dressed to look like a little girl. She is shown standing on a cushion holding a plush toy of Kun Kun, the puppet detective that she adores.

Description

This is a bronze casting of Hina Ichigo shown with her toy dog Kun Kun.

Hina Ichigo is a bronze casting containing over 1.2 kilograms of solid metal in various alloys. Her body and dress are cast in an ancient bronze alloy of copper and tin. Kun Kun, her puppet toy is cast in a yellow brass alloy. Her ribbon on her head is cast in white bronze. She stands on a solid bronze cushion that has been cast in a silicon bronze alloy with a dark black patina.

This piece is mounted on a custom fabricated cherry wood base.

White bronze is an alloy that looks like silver, with 58% copper, 1% lead and various amounts of manganese, zinc and aluminum. Yellow brass is an alloy that includes 63% copper, 1% lead, and various amounts of zinc and tin.
