Description

This sculpture is a precursor for my larger piece known as Mandelbrot Cube. This work is called “Questioning”. I wanted to portray the student seeking her future path.

This is a bronze casting of Ryoko Inoue, a seventeen year old schoolgirl from the Sega Genesis role playing game released in 1998.

This figure is cast from a high tin bronze that is alloyed from 90% copper and tin. The uniform and skirt are cast in a white bronze that emulates silver. The skirt may have a copper or red patina. Her hair is cast in a yellow brass that includes 63% copper, 1% lead, and various amounts of zinc and tin.

This figurine has been highly polished and covered with a clear lacquer to protect it from oxidation.
