Halloween Skull
Halloween is coming, so today I cast a skull. This one is in white bronze. It stands 4 cm tall and weighs 190 grams and is mostly solid. It feels really nice when you hold it in your hand.
I did drill out some of the wax from the bottom of the skull to manage shrinkage and cast flaws. Even so, I had a small shrinkage cavity show up on the chin where the metal feed came in, which I have repaired with new metal.
I’m casting another in yellow brass tomorrow and I will do a third one in silicon bronze sometime later. These skulls also go with my pirate theme that I am currently working on. You do remember my 18th Century Cannon, yes?
